I think if the Devils can score more goals than the Kings then we have a good chance of winning.

Great points again Todd. One shift, one period, one game at a time. If the Devils look at is as needing to beat the Kings 4 out of 5 (which I am sure as professionals they are not) it seems daunting. Winning one game at a time should be the mantra. Need to return the favor and steal one on their ice. then worry about stealing another.

We're not done yet.

Let's Go Devils!

Gagne in for Richardson tonight. Thoughts? Saw it on Todd's Twitter.

Well that's (frank)ing interesting. Wonder if it to give him a game, or if Sutter doesn't like Richardson's play. Haven't heard anything from him (Richie) this series, almost forgot he was out there.

Well, its a 4th line roll so his chances of hurting us or helping us are limited.

Cautiously optomistic.

richardson isnt half the player gagne is even if he is a lil hurt. i doubt they would let gagne really play with a concussion unless they feel he is done forever. He's had plenty of time off. cant say dont mess with whats working because richardson has been out a couple of times already and so has fraser.

There's no doubt Gagne is uber talented. The concerns I have is that Gagne hasn't played a game in months and barely had a chance to learn Murray's system, let alone Sutter's. Knowing how it works is one thing, executing it is another.

I just don't know if game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals is the right time to bring in a player who hasn't played for months, especially when you're up 2-0. That's why I post dumb poop on blogs and Sutter makes the money as a coach.

That was my first thought also. Up 2-0. 14-2 so far. Why change anything?

I'm sure Gagne is healthy. They wouldn't mess with this team if there was any risk.

Maybe Sutter knows that if either of these teams PP catches fire it could be lights out and Gagne helps the offense. Or maybe he's watched film of Gagne CONSTANTLY burning the Devils.

I agree with what you said.

Its pretty obvious what the Kings plan of attack is. Blocker side low, above the pad.

I am conflicted. On 1 hand it looks like a terrible move but on the other hand, most Kings fans (myself included) thought hiring Sutter was the single worst move this organization made in years.

I trust that Sutter knows what he's doing and regardless, if Gagne isn't up to speed out there, double shifting some guys while Gagne sits won't be a big deal.

Captain needs to step up. I know he isn't the only one, but this is where he needs to shine. I don't know if Kovalchuk will with the way he has been playing. Must be injured. Both Zajac and Kovalchuk need to not overpass. We need to do a better job at using our D like we did against the Rangers. Put themselves in a situation where they gotto win 2 on the road or this series is over. Long shot to come back but they can't give up.

He's kidding.

Anyway. The Devils need to find away to end the Kings' magic. They can't enter another OT situation -- the Kings karma is just too strong right now. If there's an OT, the Kings will find a way to win somehow.

The Devils have thrived on adversity and being the underdog all playoffs. Well, now they are really in the weeds. Time for the gut-check of all gut-checks.

I'm looking at you Parise, Kovy, Elias, Clarkson... goal scorers need be just that this time of year. Can't rely on 4th liners to score your one and only goals.

i see parise and kovy having a big game...everyone says the kings arent playing as well as they have all postseason...has anyone thought that might be due to...i dont know...the devils? i think if we can light up quick tonight that we will be not only on the way to a great comeback...but we put a ton of pressure on the kings especially if we get quick thinking too hard about his play...because he's the only king player thats flat out beating us...from what i saw in game 2 we're right on the cusp of figuring out quick...one of the saves he made was with the very bottom of the edge of his skate...i dont care who you are thats a lucky save...and during both games we've been able to take him out of position pretty regularly leading to gaping nets that we didnt bury *fayne clarkson*

You also have to remember that the Kings were considered underdogs up until around game 3 of the Phoenix series.

That being said, I think this series gets (for the most part) decided tonight. If the Kings win then I think it will go 5 games at the most but if the Devils win then we're probably looking at 6 or 7 games and a fresh series.

GO KINGS GO!!!!!
